Festival time, and a Confession…

Hello…

Popping into my sadly-neglected blog to share some news.

First, you can catch me at Fringe by the Sea on August 6th. Along with fellow Scottish Book Trust New Writer Award Winners Lynsey May and Rob Currie, I’ll be reading from my work, and discussing my route to publication. (Don’t be put off by the photo at the link – I don’t really look like a sinister blob in a snowstorm. Honest. Well, lightly sinister maybe..).

Next, I’m thrilled to be talking Werewolf Parallel at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on August 9th:

Join Roy Gill and Barry Hutchison for tales of demonic worlds, mysterious men, werewolves and the end of the world. Two leading fantasy horror writers talk about their latest novels, Werewolf Parallel and The Book of Doom. This is modern Gothic with a comic twist and an extra helping of gore. Guaranteed to have you sleeping with the light on.

George R R Martin is one of the big names at this year’s festival. I understand tickets for his two events flew off the shelves, but panic not! Other bearded fantasy authors are available:

As you can see – practically indistinguishable. Apart from, you know, the dazzling career and the brilliant television adaptation on HBO… Although, oddly enough, I did write a blog on fantasy casting for Daemon Parallel and Werewolf Parallel just recently, so if there are any eager producers out there, willing to make it happen? *BITES OFF HAND WITH EAGERNESS* And if you’re looking for another way to sample the Parallel series of books, they’ve newly been added to Audible too. Behold, here be daemons and werewolves

Finally, I’m pleased to say my second script for Big Finish has been announced. It’s another tale for wayward adventurer Dorian Gray, and a very different story to The Prime of Deacon Brodie. The feedback from fans for that episode has been amazing – was great to read your reviews and tweets. I’m really properly chuffed to be writing for Confessions again, and I can’t wait to hear the final version. As to what happens… you’ll need to wait until the winter to find out.

That’s it for now. Hope to see you at one of the events!
