As a novelist, Roy won a Scottish Book Trust New Writer’s Award (2010). The manuscript of his first book, Daemon Parallel, was shortlisted for both the Kelpies and the Sceptre prize, and published by Floris Books in 2012. Werewolf Parallel (2014) – praised by Kirkus Reviews as “Clever, creative and fun” – completed the duology. Roy’s short stories have appeared in The Myriad Carnival, Out There: An Anthology of Scottish LGBT Writing and the British Fantasy Society Journal among others. His literary work is represented by Fraser Ross Associates.

Alongside licensed audio drama, Roy has recently been involved in developing a possible television adaptation of his novels for an independent production company. He is currently exploring original work across several media.

Roy lives in Edinburgh with his husband and too many books and vinyl records. He misses having a dog.
